On August 30th, 2024, we held our Club's annual event, the Elders Dim Sum brunch honoring members age 80 and over. The event was held at Pearl Bay Restaurant, Fremont.

Two of the cast members in the Beauty and the Beast Musical are children of SBCC members. Chris Apy is a graduated senior who has just received an SBCSC Scholarship Award of Robert Vun Yau Lee Memorial Scholarship of Excellence in Performance Arts at this year’s Scholarship Awards Banquet. Another cast member, Jing Yee-Bowen is daughter of SBCC Secretary Jeff Bowen and June Yee.

On July 21, 2024, a group of SBCC members gathered to wrap joong, a sticky rice dumpling, to take home to cook and share with families.

On June 28, 2024, KTSF-26 broadcast a segment of their “Business & Lifestyle” program where host Mina Li interviewed Jane Lin and Joe Woo of SBCC to discuss about the club and its scholarship program.

It is with a heavy heart that we convey the news of the passing of a long-time SBCC member and former SBCC President, Gladys Lee on the evening of Wednesday, June 26.

In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that donations be made to the SBCSC Gladys Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rose Lee on Monday, June 24. Rose was a long-time SBCC member. She and her entire family enjoyed many of the SBCC events through the decades.
