LTC Chris Gin received a fellowship to attend the Army’s War College at Stanford

LTC Christopher Gin has commanded the 229th Military Intelligence Battalion at the Defense Language Institute for the past 24 months and relinquished his command at a Change of Command ceremony on June 18, 2024.  His next assignment will be as a fellow at the Army’s War College at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies on the Stanford campus.  He is the son of former SBCC Presidents, Dr. Victor Gin and Dr. Fran Sabado-Gin, and brother to SBCC member, Dr. Brian Gin.  LTC Gin received a SBCSC scholarship in 2001 and returned as a keynote speaker at the 2006 Scholarship Banquet.

LTC Chris Gin received the Army’s Meritorious Service Medal from Senior Commander Colonel James Kievit prior to the Change of Command ceremony.

Chris received his scholarship in 2001 with the keynote speaker Rita Ng, Miss California 2001. Ms. Ng returned in 2017 as a keynote speaker addressing the SBCSC Scholarship recipients. This time, she is Dr. Ng, a practicing cardiologist at Kaiser Permanente.

Chris was the keynote speaker at the 2006 SBCSC Scholarship Award Banquet.
