2012 SBCSC Scholarship Recipient received her Doctor of Medicine Degree

Congratulations to Elyssa (Ellie) Yu Li Wong who received her degree as Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine on May 11, 2024.  Ellie is the daughter of SBCC members Ron and Lorrice Wong and received SBCSC Scholarship and Best Essay awards in 2012. The new Dr. Wong will continue her training as a resident physician in the Urology program at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas.

During her four years in medical school, Ellie earned several academic and research awards:

  • Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society

  • Dean's Research Scholar and Scholarship

  • Distinction in Research Award
