
2025 SBCSC Scholarship Awards Banquet

This year, the Scholarship Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of Wednesday, April 16th, at the Pearl Bay Restaurant (43635 Boscell Rd., Fremont, CA 94538). The dinner banquet program will start at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to finish at around 9:00 p.m. Please arrive 30 minutes earlier to check in so that we can start on time. RSVP deadline is Monday, April 5, 2025. For online reservations, please follow the information below. To RSVP via mail, please download and print the event flyer, fill out the reservation form, and mail it in with your check per the instructions.
Please make sure to fill out your contact information and the name(s) of the dinner guests on the Scholarship Dinner Form after clicking the "ADD TO CART" button. All scholarship student applicants will receive complimentary dinners.

Due to the steep rising cost charged by the restaurants, we can only offer a limited number of complimentary dinners to major sponsors with donations of $500 and up. For donations of $150 and up, we will offer the opportunity to purchase certain number of dinner tickets at a great discounted price of $28 each, based on the amount donated as follows.

2025 Scholarship Awards Dinner Tickets
The cost of the dinner is $56 for adult and $36 for “non-applicant” students (24 and under). You may purchase online using your credit card - PayPal is preferred because they charge the lowest transaction fees for non-profit organizations.

Keynote Speaker: Mayor Lily Mei
Mayor Lily Mei is a prominent and accomplished leader known for her exceptional contributions to public service and her dedication to her community. Mayor Mei ‘s visionary leadership, commitment to inclusivity, and tireless advocacy for pragmatic policies have made her a respected figure in regional government.
Mayor Lily Mei's journey in public service began with her election to the Fremont School board in 2008. Her ability to foster collaboration and build consensus earned her the trust and admiration of her colleagues and constituents alike.
In 2016, Mayor Mei's outstanding leadership and unwavering passion for improving her community won her the mayorship on platform focused on economic development, affordable housing, public safety, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. Her message resonated with the residents of Fremont, and she emerged victorious, becoming the city's first female and first minority/Asian American Mayor.
Mayor Mei's commitment to environmental stewardship has earned Fremont accolades and recognition as a leading city in sustainability practices. Her dedication to sustainability has positioned Fremont as the 4th greenest city in the United States and earned the first city awarded the prestigious SolSmart Platinum award from the US Department of Energy in the United States.
Mayor Lily Mei's exceptional leadership and dedication to public service have garnered widespread recognition, including being named one of the most Influential Women in 2023 by the San Francisco Business Times. Her transformative initiatives and unwavering commitment to the well-being of Fremont's residents have positioned her city as a model for others to follow.
