2022 SBCSC SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDS BANQUET
Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 6:00 p.m.

Keynote Speaker: Shelly Gin
Shelly Gin (甄佩真) is the Development Manager at Chinese for Affirmative Action, a San Francisco-based non-profit founded to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance social justice and multiracial democracy in the United States. In that capacity, she provides meaningful connection to the organization and its mission through donor stewardship and engagement events. Prior to her time at CAA, Shelly worked at the ACLU of Northern California, and served on the boards of the National Charity League, ACLU Paul Robeson Chapter, and PFLAG SRV.
Shelly graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Industrial Engineering and BA in Economics. She also completed an MA in Education at Fairfield University with a focus on TESOL and the Achievement Gap.
Shelly has four adult children and two fur babies. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking and yoga.
This year, the Scholarship Awards Banquet will be held on April 27th, Wednesday evening at the Union City Grand Golden Bay Seafood (34348 Alvarado-Niles Rd., Union City, CA 94587). The dinner banquet program will start at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to finish at around 9:00 p.m. Please arrive 30 minutes earlier to check in so that we can start on time. For your safety, all restaurant staff and Scholarship Committee staff are fully vaccinated. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all guests attending this event. Please click HERE to view the acceptable proofs of vaccinations and how to “pre-proof” ahead of time. “Pre-proofing” is highly recommended to ease the check-in process. To pre-proof, please attached image of any of the acceptable proofs to an email and send to: sbcc@SouthBayChineseClub.org. If you have a CLEAR Health Pass, you can simply “share” it to the above email address. It is preferred that you submit your proof at the time of RSVP but no later than one week prior to the event day. Please contact the event organizer using the above email address if you have any questions.
RSVP Deadline is 4/18/2022. Please follow the information below if you would like to make your reservation online. If you prefer to mail in a check, please click HERE to download the event flyer, print it out, fill out the reservation form, and mail it in with your check per the instructions.
The cost of the dinner is $40 for adult and $30 for “non-applicant” students (18 and under). You may purchase online using your credit card. Please make sure to fill out your contact information and the name(s) of the dinner guests on the Scholarship Dinner Form after clicking the "ADD TO CART" button. All scholarship student applicants will receive complimentary dinners. This year's major donors (donations of $150 and up) will also receive complimentary dinners to this year's award banquet.
