Showing of Documentary Film "Meeting 'Round the Table: Chinese-Americans in Monterey" on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Monterey Public Library

On Saturday, January 24, 2015, 2 p.m. the Monterey Public Library will show the documentary film "Meeting 'Round the Table: Chinese-Americans in Monterey" based on interviews collected by the Library in a recent grant-funded project.  Our SBCC member, Gerry Low-Sabado, was interviewed by the library several years ago for another film "Shades & Stories of Monterey".  Excerpts from that interview are included in this film.  This film also includes interviews with Gerry's aunt Frances Low and other relatives and friends.  If you are free this coming weekend, Gerry would like to invite you to come visit the picturesque setting of Monterey and stop by the library to view the showing of the film that will be preceded by a brief discussion of this Preserving Community Heritage Project by Dennis Copeland and Jeanne McCombs.  Admission is free but reservations are required.  Click here to see the flyer for more details.
